Yum! Is there anything like the sound of birthday cake AND french toast? These are two family favorites mashed into one and this recipe was another family hit!
My goal lately has been to get as much protein and good stuff into my kids diet as possible so I’ve been needing to get creative and sometimes a bit sneaky. Stay tuned for their favorite protein shake!
I’d typically like to do a harder bread like leftover italian rolls or challah bread but all we had today was good old fashioned white bread so we made due and honestly they make for perfectly soft french toast for the kids – you could probably turn it into bread pudding if you wanted.
Another great thing is how many of these ingredients can be swapped – prefer whey or an alternative protein? Great! Swap your favorite flavor! Don’t have brown sugar? Swap for white. Now almond milk? Catch my drift? Adjust as you need too and it will be delicious!

Ingredients
- 1 scoop birthday cake Obvi Super Collagen Protein Powder
- 1/2 cup sweetened vanilla almond milk (could use regular milk – this keeps it dairy free)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Bread of choice (in slices)
- Cream cheese icing for drizzle (or maple syrup)
Directions
- Mix together in a blender birthday cake obvi and milk of choice (this prevents clumping once the eggs get mixed in).
- Pour the milk mixture in a bowl and add 2 eggs, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir well.
- Depending on type of bread, you will need to quickly coat bread or may need to let it soak a bit. If you’re using white bread, go fast or it will bread apart.
- Spray a pan or griddle with non stick spray and cook each side on medium/high heat for about 2 minutes.
- Drizzle with melted icing or maple syrup (or both!) and ENJOY!
XO,
