Time for Holiday Prep & Planning Already!?

Goodbye Halloween, Hello…? I don’t know about you all but this mama is ready for the holiday season. Despite the weather (which I’m not a huge fan of), this has always been my favorite time of year – add kids into the mix and it really becomes the best time ever.

As the kids get older (ish) and come to understand the holidays a bit more, they become as excited as we do and it’s truly amazing to watch. While their favorite things are currently the gifts, this year I’m determined to throw in as many crafts and fun meaningful family activities as possible- to make it truly about the season! For me, this means bring on all of the holiday cooking and baking!

If you’ve heard me talk about my kitchen, you know it’s not my favorite but only because it’s itty bitty and two of my favorite things to do are cook and bake. This holiday season, I will not let my kitchen deter me and I will be including my little ones on all the fun too!

If you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, you know that quality tools can make all the difference which is why I was super excited to be gifted this fantastic bread knife from tuo cutlery. If you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, you also know that bread knives can be useful in doing so much more than cutting just bread!!

What else can you use a bread knife for? So much! Bread knives are useful for cutting all types of breads and bagels of course but also for sweets like cakes and pastries and even fruits and vegetables. The secret to a bread knife is its serrated blades which keep you from needing to crush your food but instead allows you to delicately move back and forth to create smooth cuts- this keeps your beautiful creations looking beautiful rather than crushed and/or squeezed!

This mama needs to hit the grocery store this weekend so that we can get our mix, chop, slice on but until then, I’ll be enjoying this yummy avocado toast – one of my favorite simple treats!

Stay tuned for all the goodness that my new knife helps me slice through and if you’re in need of new cutlery, head on over to Tuo Cutlery <– (click there!)and check out all they have to offer. Be sure to tell me all about your favorite holiday treats- savory and sweet in the comments below, I’d love to give them a try!

XO,
