Incorporating education into the little things is extremely important, especially at a time where our kids are spending so much time at home. As a mother of three and a teacher, I know not only how important it is to work on skills including but not limited to practicing fine motor skills and using a pencil (would you ever have imagined how little kids today actually get to practice this!) as well as letter recognition and number sense early on as well as how easy it is to squeeze them in here and there. Osmo is a learning system that works with Apple iPad or Amazon Fire Tablets that has a variety of games and applications for kids ages 3 and up making it a favorite in our home! Osmo does such a great job at making learning fun and engaging and their Osmo Masterpiece app does not disappoint.
Osmo Masterpiece allows children to draw anything they could possibly imagine including a number of options available in the app or by taking a picture of something (or someone) they’d like to draw, making their creative options endless. Your child can use a variety of tools from paint, pencils and even edible markers to create their designs! Osmo does have a board available for purchase, however your child can use a number of canvases such as paper, a white board and you got it, PANCAKES!
Getting used to moving your hand with the image on the screen takes some getting used to but it really is so much fun and makes drawing anything possible! While my boys are a little young at 2 and 3, my 3 year old was starting to get the hang of it and I know they will continue to love using Osmo Masterpiece as well as Osmo’s other apps for years to come (I do too!)
